Your kind of future
Of course you want to work. But above all: you want to live. And that's where Hamburg makes the big difference. Because in addition to the best future prospects and career opportunities in your job, Hamburg and the metropolitan region offer you what other cities can only dream of: Maritime lifestyle. Parks, greenery and lots of water in the center of the city. A world-class port and beautiful landscapes between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. Festivals, concerts, culture and subculture. Schanze, Karo, Kiez. Tolerance, freedom and diversity have a long tradition here: So come as you are – shape your future and do your thing.
Moin – and then what?
Arriving is easy. But finding your way around, settling in and feeling at home? That’s easy, too! Thanks not only to Hanseatic cosmopolitanism and tolerance, but also the concrete assistance offered to Hamburg newcomers.

Hamburg – hot features and top tips
When you come to Hamburg, you will quickly make your own discoveries and define your own Hamburg highlights. Here you can find out what our new Hamburg residents love about their new home city and also get their individual recommendations.

Mobility: Hamburg has a very efficient
public transport system so you practically
have no reason to own a car.
Chilling: Hamburg has a lot of parks
within your neighborhood and is surrounded
by a beautiful nature.

Discover: I love exploring
Hamburg by bike.
Time and again: The port of
Hamburg, a real feel-good place
in the city.

Specials: The Miniature Wunderland
is a great place, time flies when
you’re in there.
Friday night: Hamburg is great
for Bar hopping, I like the Boilerman
bar best, it is awesome.

Leasure: I really like the Alster
canals. They are so beautiful and
I tried canoeing several times.
Food: I already found some
very authentic Chinese Restaurants
here and that was really nice for me.

Guests: Whenever I have guests
coming to visit me in Hamburg,
I love taking them to the Elbe first.
My favourite place: definitely Dockland –
it has a great maritime flair and
you can see the best sunsets there.

Night out: I go to Sternschanze which
I call now just "Schanze" just cause I’m living
in Hamburg and I’m starting to become
a Hamburger I guess.
Friends: If friends are visiting Hamburg
the first thing I show them is the Speicherstadt.
